Original Color

Some things I've been thinking of lately. By Melvin McGee
Do we put meaning in color? And what are those meanings? These are very deep and sometimes disturbing questions that I've been pondering for quite some time now.
Also is it better to commit a crime, or to paint a picture of a crime? Will the crime manifest in the artist's mind and into real life? Do us artists have to be delicate about our use of color and content, not to offend others? Or does it ultimately make us question who we really are inside our selves? These are questions that through all my years of research have found out some answers. Yes people are very sensitive to color, as well as content.
Is it the job of the artist to reflect society accurately or falsly? Are we hurt when we see the truth reflected back at us? I believe we must look deep inside our selves and find out the reason why we don't like something. I have disliked many things in this world. The question is why and what is the reason behind the dislike. Some dislike's serve a purpose for our survival. The smell of smoke warns us of danger in our brain. The smell of manure tells us to go away so not to spread disease. But some farmers have adapted to the smell and learned over time to block out some of that sensor in the brain. These are all things that we must ask ourselves and reevalute time to time. For in order to build somethings we have to tear down other things.
More to come?.....
