THE FAMILY TV
Original oil painting
48" x 60"
I will tell you what inspired me to do this painting.
Growing up in Wisconsin, I soon adapted the tradition of watching the Packers play on our family television set. It was one of the few times that we all sat together and rallied for our Green Bay Packers. It seemed for those couple of hours it brought us closer together. I remember the ups and downs, twist and turns the game offered us, it surely would keep us on the edge of our seats.
Can you spot a Packer, a Bear, or Cardinal fan? How about a lion, a Cowboy, Giant, Viking, or Buccaneer?
There were many other things we watched on the screen. My dad worked every day on our family dairy farm. He seldom had time off from work but when he did we would often watch a movie together. It was a very special and rare time to be with my two brothers, sister, mom and dad. It was one of my favorite memories as a kid. The television glowed with its light radiating its stories into our lives. How many stories has the TV given us? What kind of stories can you make with some of the characters in this painting?
